May & June 2023

New Student

We welcome our new student Ciara into the Junior classroom. We hope that she is very happy in Drumnacurra. Thanks to all the children for making her feel so welcome.



Friendship Day



Swimming

Thanks to Ballybunion Leisure centre for swimming lessons. The six-week course was of great benefit for all our pupils.


Tommy Moloney

Thanks to Tommy and all the children for all the wonderful art classes. The children look forward to his visits every week and he always has something new for them.




Hurling Skills May 18th

Well done to girls, Joanne, Aubree, Emma, boys Evan, Brayden and Aodhan who took part in the Cumann na mbunscoil skills in Causeway Sportsfield. Thanks to Giles for organizing.




Football Blitz 1st to 4th Ballyduff May 31st

Well done to the children who took part in the Blitz. Thanks to John Dillon for organising.


Aistear

The children enjoyed Gardaí Aistear taking fingerprints and patrolling in their Garda car arresting criminals!




School Tour

The children had a wonderful time playing team sports, bouncing on the many bouncy castles and water activities in the pool. The trip to McDonalds at the end finished it off nicely.


End of year Mass

Thank you to Fr. Brendan for saying our end of year Mass and to all the parents and grandparents who generously contributed to the tea and cakes afterwards.




Fun Day / Sports Day

Sports day took place on June 7. The children participated with gusto in sports day. We were grateful to all past pupils who helped and made it a memorable day for the children.




Ice Cream Treat

The children were delighted with a visit from Declan from Tony Mack ice cream van on Sports day. It was a real treat on such a warm sunny day.




Field Trip to Ballybunion

The children had a fantastic morning fishing in Rock pools on Ballybunion beach and bird watching. Thank you to Geoff Hunt who as usual,was a mine of information for the children.



School Books Grant

This year the Dept of Education has provided a grant for primary schools to purchase textbooks, copies and workbooks. This year there will be no booklists for parents. Parents will only need to provide their children’s pencils, pens etc. Please find a list in the envelope with the necessary items along with the 2023/2024 Calendar and School Report.
