Confirmation March 21st

Congratulations to Aubree, Joanne, and Evan on their Confirmation Day, and to all the children in the parish of Causeway/Ballyduff. It is a significant milestone in their faith journey, marking the reception of the Holy Spirit's blessings on Thursday, a day filled with prayers and joyous celebrations.




Catholic Schools Week - January 22nd to January 29th. - Grandparents Mass

During Catholic Schools Week, the community came together to celebrate with a special Grandparents Mass conducted by Fr. Brendan on January 24th. The event was a beautiful display of faith and togetherness, with children actively participating by singing songs and engaging in post-mass activities. The strong sense of community was further highlighted by the delicious baked goods provided by parents for the post-mass gathering, emphasizing the theme of "Communities of Service" that resonated throughout the week.


Credit Union Quiz Jan 27th

The annual Credit Union Quiz, held in the MTU, Tralee, saw a record number of schools participating this year, a testament to the event's growing popularity and Cara Credit Union's expanding reach. Congratulations to the students who represented their school admirably, showcasing their knowledge and teamwork skills.


First Confession

March 5th marked a significant day for Eoin, Jack, Aiden, Sinead, and Amber as they made their First Holy Confession, a step towards their upcoming Holy Communion on May 11th. Fr. Brendan's guidance and the children's commitment to their faith journey were evident, setting a positive tone for the upcoming sacramental milestones.


Aistear

The children's exploration of the "Birthdays" theme through Aistear activities was a delightful experience filled with creativity and imagination. From wrapping presents to playing party games, the children engaged in hands-on learning, fostering their social and cognitive skills in a fun and interactive way.




Seachtain na Gaeilge

Seachtain na Gaeilge provided a platform for the children to immerse themselves in Irish language and culture, enjoying activities such as watching cartoons 'as Gaeilge' and engaging in various art projects. The celebration was a testament to the students' enthusiasm for the language, as they embraced the opportunity to expand their vocabulary and language skills.




World Book Day

On World Book Day, the children embraced the joy of reading, dressed in 'comfy' clothes and indulging in a day filled with literary adventures. The event highlighted the importance of literacy and the pleasure of getting lost in a good book, fostering a love for reading among the young learners.


St. Patrick’s Day

The St. Patrick's Day Parade was a festive occasion, with children actively participating and parents showing their support. Despite uncertainties, the weather held up, allowing for a successful celebration of Irish culture and heritage, bringing the community together in a spirit of unity and joy.


Music Generation

Music education continued to thrive in the school, with junior class students learning to play tuned percussion instruments and senior class students enjoying the ukulele. The program provided a creative outlet for students to express themselves through music, fostering a love for the arts and musical exploration.


Creative Schools

The Creative Schools initiative brought exciting opportunities for students to engage with artists, photographers, and the local community, exploring their creativity and artistic skills. From workshops to field trips, the children had the chance to learn new techniques and perspectives, enhancing their artistic abilities and appreciation for the arts.


Swimming Classes

Swimming classes in Ballybunion provided students with valuable water safety skills and a fun learning experience. The opportunity to participate in swimming lessons not only promoted physical activity but also instilled confidence in the water, ensuring students' well-being and enjoyment.


Solar Panels - Schools Photovoltaic Programme

Participation in the Schools Photovoltaic Programme marked a significant step towards environmental sustainability for the school. The installation of solar panels aims to reduce emissions and raise awareness about renewable energy, empowering students to become stewards of the environment and advocates for a greener future.


Sewing classes with Trish

Trish Riordan's sewing classes provided students with a hands-on experience in crafting useful items like pencil cases and Easter egg warmers. The students' creativity shone through as they learned valuable sewing skills and created personalized items, culminating in the production of beautiful aprons in the senior class, showcasing their dedication and craftsmanship.


Allianz Cumann na mbunscoil Cross Country

The Allianz Cross Country Race was a test of endurance and sportsmanship for Brayden and Grainne, who represented the school admirably despite challenging weather conditions. Their participation in the event exemplified the school's commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy competition among students, fostering a sense of teamwork and achievement.
