Spring Garden
We recently dedicated time to our spring garden, where we carefully planted onions and cabbage, anticipating a successful yield as a result of our hard work and dedication. Engaging in this annual hands-on activity not only brings joy to everyone involved but also fosters a deep appreciation for the environment that sustains us. We are grateful to John Connor for generously providing us with cabbage plants, a gesture that we truly appreciate.
Playground Mural
Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Tommy Moloney for his invaluable contribution through inspiring art classes for the children. Each week, the children eagerly await his visits, always bringing something new and exciting for them to explore. Together with Tommy, the children embarked on a creative journey to paint a stunning mural on a section of the school wall, now known as the Wellbeing Wall. Their collaborative effort resulted in a masterpiece that they can all take pride in.

Field Trip to the Black Rock
A memorable morning was spent by the children at Ballyheigue beach, engaging in activities such as fishing in rock pools, building sandcastles, and bird watching. We extend our thanks to Jeff Hunt for making this educational and fun-filled trip possible.
Say Yes to Languages
Our Senior Room had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 'Say Yes to Languages' program, led by Ms. Sarah Casey. This initiative allowed the children to explore foreign languages, with a focus on French this year. We are thrilled to announce that our application to continue this program next year has been approved, with plans to introduce Spanish to the curriculum as well.
Aistear
The children had a blast this term immersing themselves in camping Aistear, where they honed their camping skills by setting up camps, building fires, and arranging camping furniture. It was a hands-on and educational experience that they thoroughly enjoyed.

The pupils of Drumnacurra have once again impressed us with their outstanding Creative Schools Project. This initiative, funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and guided by artist Jeanine Stornan, has allowed the students to explore and express their local environment through photography. Under the mentorship of professional photographer Tara Donoghue, the children captured the essence of their community, showcasing their pride and creativity. Their exhibition, featuring a selection of 12 captivating photographs, will be shared with the community in September, highlighting their unique perspective and talent.
